Kitchen Renovation:
The existing kitchen
space plan was inefficient. The goal was more light, a better
functioning workspace, more storage and an updated kitchen with
an eating area, restyled with a French influence.
The cook now enjoys
increased storage and counter space, enhanced lighting and a
much more efficient kitchen space plan. Cabinetry was built to
blend the new with the old and detailed with beadboard and
custom valances, finished to connote French character. An
asymmetrical island was finessed into the new space. Granite
tops the island and slate was custom fabricated for the
surrounding areas.
The computer workspace
and display shelving fit comfortably in the rearranged family
room by fitting the combination into a connecting corner with
all the computer equipment given a home to allow for desktop
space. Natural light streams in from the skylights. And best of
all, three sons now have an efficient sandwich-making-and
eating-center! |
