House Kitchen Renovation:
Metal cabinets
original to this 1955 home provided inadequate storage and very
poorly planned work areas. The kitchen was lit by one
fluorescent light fixture. The homeowner had attempted to bring
in more light by installing a bay window. Sharing the kitchen
with the laundry resulted in the dryer becoming landing space
with the oven range. This family needed space!
The client wanted the
new kitchen to have light, be open to the rest of the house and
connect to the outdoors. Good storage and work areas were
important and frequent entertaining was to be accommodated.
Storage and counter
space was created at the work centers, each appliance has
landing space on each side of it and entertaining is fun and
people friendly with room for multiple helpers in the work area.
The kitchen has become the center of living and entertaining
that the homeowner needed. |
