Flooring
dilemmas were resolved by achieving a flush transition from the
level of the existing hardwood flooring to the ceramic tile
floor in the work area. The floor framing of the existing
structure was reinforced so that a thinner sub floor and cement
board underlayment could be used.
Hardwood floors were feathered into the original and given a
dark stain to match the existing stain as closely as possible.
The ceiling on the first floor addition was framed flush with
the existing 9' ceiling height. Trim styles were matched for
windows, door, baseboards and crown molding.
