Interior
Design Do you want your buffet to sit on a particular wall in the addition? We can plan the windows to allow that. Do you have a baby grand piano in the basement that you'd like to come upstairs? We organized the remodeling/addition to allow that piano to be the focal point viewed from the foyer to make a gracious statement upon entry. We finished with window shades, sheer drapes, fabric to coordinate with an antique rug, and placed the homeowners' dramatic collection of eclectic art from European flea markets to complete the conversion to Habitable Art. Habitable Art results from planning with the end result in mind. Working back from that point through the desired interior furnishings, space plans, storage requirements, lighting, finishes, trim details, to mechanical and structural requirements, door and window placement, and coordination of the exterior with the interior. It's better than you even hoped - and you already know we listen to you.
Fairlington townhouse, first floor remodel, features coordinated style and finishes throughout, starting with a carpet and a theme: Old World - simple but luxurious, and a bit rustic. Furniture, cabinetry, kitchen finishes, lighting, original photographic artwork, & accessories followed.
Bathroom remodeling includes a stone art inset in the shower, an antique Chinese cabinet with glass vessel sink set on a stone top against a mirrored wall, lit with two handmade worked iron wall sconces.
